Day 1 - Airport Arrival > Negombo

Ayubowan!

Welcome to Sri Lanka, the pearl of the Indian Ocean, and 12 days of adventures highlighting the finest of ancient history and culture, lush green tea farms and waterfalls, wildlife, and gorgeous golden sandy beaches.

On arrival at the Bandaranayake International Airport. A Wonderland Leisure Chauffeur Guide will greet you at the airport and accompany you to your private vehicle. To help you settle in, you will be driven from Bandaranaike International Airport to your accommodation in Negombo. The first location will be the seaside town of Negombo, which has long been renowned as Sri Lanka’s most popular resort, noted for its golden sandy beach, food, and entertainment. We haven’t booked any activities for day one, so you can arrive in Sri Lanka whenever you choose. If your flight arrives early in the morning, unwind at your lovely hotel’s beach and pool. In the evening, you may take a walk along the beach while admiring the lovely sunset and the nice evening environment.

Day 2 - Elephants Sanctuary > Village Tour

After a great breakfast accompanied by a hot cup of Sri Lankan tea or coffee, you will embark on a beautiful drive through the magnificent Sri Lankan countryside towards Dambulla, the focal point of the island’s cultural triangle.

You’ll stop by the Millennium Elephant Foundation on your way to Dambulla. Take advantage of the chance to feed them and bathe them in the neighbouring river. When you arrive in Dambulla, you’ll be treated to a great village tour while seeing the magnificent landscape. It will begin with a Bullock Cart ride, one of the most historic and important modes of transportation in Sri Lanka, which is still utilised in some regions. During the tour, you will take a canoe across the lake and a delightful TukTuk ride before arriving at the farmer’s house and experiencing genuine Sri Lankan countryside hospitality. After that, check into your comfortable resort and unwind by the pool or in the surrounding environment.

Day 3 - Sigiriya Rock Fortress > Elephant Safari

After Breakfast At The Hotel.
In the morning, you will go to Sigiriya Lion Rock, an old rock castle near Dambulla. On top of this rock, King Kasyapa (477 – 495 BC) erected his palace, which was painted with beautiful paintings on the sides. Today, Sigiriya is a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE and one of the best-preserved examples of an ancient civilisation. Sigiriya refuses to give its secrets readily; in fact, to reach the top, you must ascend a series of dizzying staircases. Along the walk, you’ll see some amazing frescoes and a pair of massive lion paws cut into the bedrock.

Once you are back down from your climb take an afternoon safari to Minneriya/Kaudulla National Park, since this is the greatest time to see wild elephants in their native environment. If you’re looking for some real jungle action, Minneriya/Kaudulla is the place to be! This 8800-hectare park is mostly a refuge for elephants, but it also has herds of deer, bulls, wild boars, and colourful birdlife. This location is well-known for being the largest Asian elephant gathering spot in the world. After that, spend your evening on your own, strolling about and taking in the scenery. If you’re curious, you may try an Ayurvedic herbal massage.

Day 4 - (Optional) Hot Air Ballooning > Golden Cave Temple > Historic Kandy

(Optional activity) If you are up for it, you may enjoy a magnificent hot-air balloon tour early in the morning before breakfast. If you are fortunate enough to be able to visit the lovely island of Sri Lanka, you should take advantage of the opportunity to explore the wonderful attractions from the air, beginning in Kandalama, Dambulla in the Cultural Triangle.

You could see monkeys dangling from trees, water buffaloes standing in rice fields, wild animals, various birds, and elephants wandering through the jungle. You will board the balloon at 6 a.m. and arrive at your destination at 8 a.m. You and your family will have a great time.

After Breakfast.
Pay a visit to the Royal Rock Cave Temple (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE). Dambulla features Sri Lanka’s largest and best-preserved cave temple complex. The rock rises 160 metres above the lowlands and holds 5 cave temples with some of the most unusual and valuable historical artwork. Continue on to Kandy City (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Kandy View Point.

The final Sinhalese kingdom’s capital. It is situated on a plateau surrounded by mountains that are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforests. Kandy is also well-known for significant Buddhist monuments such as the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Kandy View Point upon arriving in Kandy.

Day 5 - Gem Museum > Royal Botanical Garden > Cultural Dance Show

After enjoying a delicious breakfast.
In the morning, go on a gem museum tour to learn more about the world’s most famous and distinguished Sri Lankan gems and jewellery. Then, pay a visit to Peradeniya Botanical Garden, one of Asia’s premier botanical gardens. It receives 2 million visitors every year and is well-known for its orchid collection. The garden has about 4000 plant varieties, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees. The botanical garden covers an area of 147 acres. Afternoon stroll in Kandy’s city centre before attending a cultural dance presentation inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance, and cultural heritage.

Day 6 - Hill Country Tea Plantations and Waterfalls

After Breakfast.
You’ll have a fantastic tour to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s tea heartland. Many of the structures in this city date back to the British colonial period, including the Queen’s Cottage, the General’s House, the Grand Hotel, the Hill Club, and the Town Post Office. It is commonly referred to as “Little England.”

While travelling through the chilly and misty hills that contain beautiful green tea farms along the way to Nuwara Eliya, stop at a tea factory to see how the great history of creating Ceylon tea is preserved alive to this day. End your factory tour in style with a finely blended cup of tea. Take an afternoon stroll around Nuwara Eliya city and the fruit and vegetable market.

Day 7 - Train Journey Into the Mountains > Ella > Yala

After Breakfast.
If you are up for it, you may take a magnificent train ride from Nanu-Oya station to Ella village in the morning. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful hill country train rides in the world. Explore the village; Ella is everyone’s favourite hill country village because it’s such a beautiful natural setting. The Nine Arch Bridge, a popular tourist attraction in Ella, is a large bridge made completely of solid rocks, bricks, and cement, with not a single piece of steel used. After that, proceed from Ella to Yala Park. On route, you will view Ravana waterfall, one of Ella’s most prominent tourist attractions, as well as other sites to see in Ella.

Day 8 - Yala National Park Safari > It's Time for the Beach

Grab a takeout breakfast and visit the Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s largest and most beautiful national park, early in the morning while it is still cold and windy. The park, which encompasses a variety of habitats, boasts an astounding array of animals, including sloth bears, leopards, and a plethora of colourful birds. Enjoy a 4×4 jeep journey in search of leopards hanging from trees or whispering through the bushes, crocodiles patrolling the river, or wild elephants sipping water and playing in the early morning light.

Afterwards, you’ll be on your way to Mirissa. When you arrive at your hotel, take a towel and relax on the beach while sipping a cocktail or a cold beer beneath the shade of a palm tree.

Day 9 - Whale Watching > Leisure at Beach

Take a takeout breakfast today too and depart to the whale watching cruise early in the morning. Return to the gorgeous golden sandy beach and board a boat for an exciting cruise on the sea in search of blue whales and dolphins. Please keep in mind that whale viewing is a Seasonal activity. Mirissa is a quiet, calm seaside village with pristine beaches. When departing from Mirissa, there is a 90% possibility of seeing Sperm whales and a decent chance of seeing a Blue whale. This region is thought to be home to roughly 26 distinct species of whales, including the well-known dolphin. Seeing these ocean wonders up close is a thrilling, enlightening, and life-changing experience.

Day 10 - Stilt Fishermen > Galle Fort > Madu River > Turtle Hatchery

After breakfast.
You’ll continue your journey down the stunning south coast to Galle, a city famous for its Fort (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE). It is the meeting point of traditional Dutch and British buildings and a tropical location, producing a vibrant and beautiful ambiance.

On the way to Galle, stop at Koggala to see and photograph the most famous Sri Lankan stilt fishermen. When you arrive in Galle. Take a stroll inside the Galle Fort, listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors and seeing how European architecture mingles with South Asian customs today, attracting cultural fans worldwide.

Madu River, Balapitiya
Take a relaxing boat ride through the lush Madu River ecosystem and experience a variety of intriguing sights, sounds, and sensations, such as passing through mangrove forests, seeing the Madu Ganga islands Satha Paha Doowa and Kothduwa, and watching cinnamon production demonstrations and experiencing fish therapy. The Madu Ganga River provides a wide range of unexpected experiences, including wonderful foot massages from a large group of doctor fishes. Both local and foreign visitors are thrilled to visit the Madu Ganga because they always enjoy a unique experience.

When you’ve finished travelling through the mangrove trees.
You’ll go to a Turtle Hatchery, where newborn turtles learn to swim and damaged adults are healed before being released back into the wild. Next, head to your resort at Bentota in the evening and unwind on the beach or by the pool.

Day 11 - Colombo & City Tour

After breakfast, continue to Colombo.

You’ll go to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s main city, which has a rich history dating back to the fifth century. This was an important port city in the East-West commerce even in ancient times. It is now a vibrant contemporary town with a distinct feel. The vibrant streets, restaurants, and sophisticated retail complexes draw both locals and tourists.

When you arrive in Colombo, you will have the chance to tour all of the city’s highlights, including the Old Lighthouse, the Old Parliament, the Galle Face Hotel, the Galle Face Green, Gangarama Temple, Hindu Kovil, Jami ul Alfar Mosque, Churches, the National Museum, and more. Enjoy the Independence Square and Race Course malls. Visit boutique shopping, designer boutiques, fine dining, nightclubs, and casinos. The city of Colombo is the place to be for Sri Lankan city life.

Day 12 - National Zoological Garden of Sri Lanka > Colombo Shopping > Departure

Visit the Dehiwala Zoo, established in 1936, is one of Asia’s oldest zoos. It is also claimed that this zoo pioneered the open zoo concept, which was later expanded upon by others. The National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka, often known as the Dehiwala Zoo, is the zoo’s full name. The area is a blooming landscape that is home to over 2,500 magnificent animals, birds, butterflies, reptiles, amphibians, and other creatures. The unique species are not limited to those found in Sri Lanka; there are animals from other nations as well. The zoo’s tropical vegetation, in addition to its wildlife, is well-known for its diversity among visitors.
